Or perhaps they all run on WinCE ;-). Actually, they're mostly some flavor of Unix. I've heard of Linux and FreeBSD being used, as well as proprietary embedded Unix OSes. The problems seem to be software rather than hardware - the physical stuff is pretty straightforward.
