Others have answered this specifically to evolution, but if you are using your local MTA (Sendmail or Postfix), you need to make some config changes to them. AOL is not the only provider. I use sendmail, and here is the the way I do it: become root cd /etc/mail edit mailertable and add something like: # send all email for a special host to another host or to a specific IP: #host.sub.org smtp:host.domain.com #host.sub.org smtp:[192.168.0.1] .aol.com smtp:smtp.comcast.net aol.com smtp:smtp.comcast.net cs.com smtp:smtp.comcast.net rr.com smtp:smtp.comcast.net .rr.com smtp:smtp.comcast.net comcast.net smtp:smtp.comcast.net .comcast.net smtp:smtp.comcast.net attbi.com smtp:smtp.comcast.net .attbi.com smtp:smtp.comcast.net netscape.net smtp:smtp.comcast.net .netscape.net smtp:smtp.comcast.net theworld.com smtp:smtp.comcast.net world.std..com smtp:smtp.comcast.net wmconnect.com smtp:smtp.comcast.net good-day.net smtp:smtp.comcast.net .good-day.net smtp:smtp.comcast.net make mailertable.db /etc/rc.d/init.d/sendmail restart Postfix is a bit different, but has the same facility.
