Mutt does this when you use the list-reply feature. Have you told mutt that your address is a mailing list? Maybe in your .muttrc you have something like this: subscribe jkinz at kinz.org I think that would be sufficient to cause what you're seeing. > The result is I'm getting multiple copies of some postings, One goes in That one, you can fix with procmail.
