Discussion of X reminded me of something I've been wanting for a long time--a way of migrating from Windows to Linux. Is there a good freeware port of the X server for Win98/2000/XP? We used Hummingbird Exceed at a place where I once worked, but it was quite pricey. I always assumed X would be freeware. Is it difficult to compile from source on the Windows platform? -rich
