I would imagine they're functionally the same; basically the only 
difference is that one bolts onto the bottom of the hard drive and 
keeps the hard drive at the same depth, whereas the other is held 
onto the back of the drive by friction and adds maybe half an inch 
to the depth of the drive. 

If, for example, you were putting the drive in an old Sun box, 
there might not be enough room behind the drive for the 7720uw.
