Hello: I have a little script that creates /dev/raw1394 and /dev/video1394. Are there others I need, such as /dev/ohci1394 and/or /dev/ieee1394? The modules are loaded as far as lsmod is claiming, but kino has the same complaint, the IEEE1394 subsystem is not responding. The firewire port is provided by a pci card. Perhaps I am just clueless about how to get such a card to work. doug > ls -l /dev/*1394 crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 171, 0 Mar 25 17:35 /dev/raw1394 crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 171, 16 Mar 25 19:07 /dev/video1394 > lsmod Module Size Used by eth1394 21768 0 video1394 18892 0 ohci1394 35588 1 video1394 raw1394 31596 0 ieee1394 111352 4 eth1394,video1394,ohci1394,raw1394 ... > ls /proc/bus input pci pnp usb
