I notice in the core schema from openldap, there exists object classes for both "organizationalPerson" and a "residentialPerson', with operlapping attribute names. It would seem to me that these would be intended for work addresses and home addresses, respectively. However, if an LDAP entry includes both object classes, I don't know how an application would distinguish which address was the work address and which was the home address, as their attribute names are the same. I know some of the other schemas like inetorgperson include explicit "homePhone" and "homePostalAddress" attributes, which suggests that tying an overloaded attribute name to a specific object class is either difficult or not possible at all. Is it actually possible to do this? -- John Abreau / Executive Director, Boston Linux & Unix ICQ 28611923 / AIM abreauj / JABBER jabr at jabber.org / YAHOO abreauj Email jabr at blu.org / WWW http://www.abreau.net / PGP-Key-ID 0xD5C7B5D9 PGP-Key-Fingerprint 72 FB 39 4F 3C 3B D6 5B E0 C8 5A 6E F1 2C BE 99 -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
