Damian Conway will be giving a couple of talks to Boston Perl Mongers this Monday. He's a well known Perl author and educator, and has a reputation for giving entertaining talks. The two he will be presenting are more on the entertaining side (their descriptions don't even mention Perl), so even if you aren't into Perl, you still might find them fun. Please RSVP to Uri Guttman <uri(at)stemsystems.com> if you plan to attend. -Tom -------- Original Message -------- Boston.pm will have a special tech meeting, Monday, September 25 with Damian Conway Infamous Perl hacker Damian Conway[1] will be presenting two of his not-so-technical but highly entertaining talks from the recent O'Reilly Open Source Conference (OSCON), opentalk 2.0[2] and The DaVinci Codebase[3]. 1. http://damian.conway.org/ 2. http://conferences.oreillynet.com/cs/os2006/view/e_sess/8393 3. http://conferences.oreillynet.com/cs/os2006/view/e_sess/9414 Time: 7:15pm. Directions by Car: General directions provided by MIT: http://whereis.mit.edu/map-jpg?section=directions The Boston Linux and Unix user group also meets at E51, so you may find their directions helpful as well (for this meeting, we will be meeting in 315, rather than our usual room 376): http://www.blu.org/directions/mit/e51-315.php Parking Information: MIT's Amherst Street Lot is adjacent to the building: http://whereis.mit.edu/map-jpg?selection=P4&Parking=go Officially, a sticker is required to park in the lot. However, we've been told unofficially that there is no enforcement after 3pm weekdays, nor on the weekends. Chances are very slim that cars will be ticketed. Nonetheless, parking in the lot is at your own risk. -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.
