The original plan that Caldera had when it acquired the Unix division from Santa Cruz (which became Tarantella and now part of Sun), was to be able to improve Linux and eventually kill the SCO Unix by transitioning the customer base. But, the real issue for Linux at the time SCO launched their litigation's was the question mark over Linux (especially Enterprise).. Remember that SCO sued Auto Zone and Daimler-Chrysler. They also tried to sell Linux licenses. I think they never anticipated that IBM would dig in its heals and fight this to the end. And, of course, there is the litigations against Novell and Red Hat. Novell is fighting this tooth and nail. -- Jerry Feldman <gaf at blu.org> Boston Linux and Unix user group http://www.blu.org PGP key id:C5061EA9 PGP Key fingerprint:053C 73EC 3AC1 5C44 3E14 9245 FB00 3ED5 C506 1EA9
