My wife currently uses Windows XP on her desktop, and we are starting to use Quicken. The pay-for version of Quicken is able to electronically reach out to our bank and retrieve our credit card statements, which is really nice. I am likely able to convince her to switch to Linux (most likely Ubuntu), but no matter the distro, what is the most Quicken-like compatible app available? I know there is crossover office, but we don't want to have to pay more, if necessary. I've read about gnucash, installed it as a test on my Ubuntu desktop, and it seems decent for a very, very cursory review. Can any of the Linux-capable financial packages reach out to banks and retrieve statements, or must the user enter the details manually? Thanks for any insights.
