Something that is surprisingly nicer on Ubuntu: DVD playback. On Ubuntu I can just start watching. On a Macintosh I have to wait through the mandatory trailers and other nonsense. Being properly licensed, Apple is obligated to to honor the disc's "you must watch" settings. Ubuntu, being unauthorized, has applications that let me skip right to the content. That said, we do sit through the mandatory trailers because my wife's Mac notebook has a 17-inch screen, with a wider viewing angle than my Panasonic W4. -kb -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean. _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.blu.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss
