I was trying to think of an easy way to back up my file systems at work that run off a Win 2003 server. I would like to use the Amazon S3 online storage. It is easy to use using Linux. I saw the recent discussion about using Rsync on Window with Cygwin. Can I use Cygwin to run the Linux version of the Amazon S3 script and back up my windows directories. It there any special parameters that I need to use to differentiate between Linux and Unix files--I know that Windows stores files slightly differently than *nix. For that matter, if I were to back up my windows partition using either the Amazon S3 script or Rsync, is there special parameters to differentiate between Window and Linux file system?
