Seth Gordon wrote: > "Half a computer today -- half an operating system tomorrow!" The phrase I remember from my Wang days (remember that $3 billion mom-and-pop operation?) was: OS/2 for the PS/2: half an operating system for half a computer. ;-) Another phrase I coined for a past consulting project was: "A subversive plot to introduce Linux into high levels of the US Government". I recall a Bill Clinton photo smiling down on me as I entered the lobby each morning for work. (Another mini generational gap, perhaps today's kids can still remember the Clinton days though for us old-timers the Bush-43 era's felt like an eternity...) Well this week I ran into a guy who now works on that same project, from which I ran away screaming after only three months, and he confirmed that indeed Linux eventually took over the whole computing cluster despite the HP-centric management on staff back in the day. -rich -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean. _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [hidden email] http://lists.blu.org/mailman/listinfo/discuss
