After gaining attention for the use of open source software, I'm hearing in podcasts that the OLPC project is considering switching to a Microsoft operating system, saying that its use of Linux has impacted sales. I also heard that some of the project volunteers are bailing because of this. Anyone have a link to a good article covering this? I see Asus similarly followed up their low-cost Linux running EEE PC with a more expensive version running Microsoft Windows. Makes you wonder whether potential buyers actually try using these machines, or are they just dismissing them site unseen based on the lack of Windows. (Though I don't recall seeing any EEE reviews mentioning the OS as a negative.) -Tom -- Tom Metro Venture Logic, Newton, MA, USA "Enterprise solutions through open source."
