Some on these lists have no doubt seen this message. For those who haven't, I thought it important enough to share. Although it's a Massachusetts initiative, I'm even sending to the Greater New Hampshire Linux User Groups because like so many issues, if there is good precedent then other states follow. I think anyone is free to sign the petition. The "Free Press" organization (http://live.freepress.net/about_us) is campaigning to provide millions of people in Massachusetts with high-speed Internet access. Last August, legislation was created to provide $40 million to connect affordable high-speed Internet in Massachusetts. The build-out plan is still being developed and the Massachusetts Broadband Institute (MBI) is looking for ideas about how best to bring broadband to the __unserved__ communities of Massachusetts. Please visit the URL below to check out what's at stake and sign on to Free Press's principles to provide an open, affordable Internet for all of Massachusetts residents: https://secure.freepress.net/site/SPageNavigator/mass_broadband ~ Greg -- Greg Rundlett skype/aim/irc/twitter freephile http://profiles.aim.com/freephile
