smartd errors

Got some smartd errors appearing today on a brand new (!) disk:

Device: /dev/sdc, 1 Currently unreadable (pending) sectors
...
Device: /dev/sdc, 1 Offline uncorrectable sectors

However, I ran both a short and a long test with smartctl, and the disk
shows no errors. I'm currently in the process of running another set of
both test, but I'm just wondering: WTF is going on? If the disk
actually was bad, wouldn't there be some other evidence of that and/or
wouldn't it have failed the test?

Just looking for advice on how to proceed. As of right now, I'm
figuring to RMA the thing (since it's less than a week old), but I'm
just wondering if I'm overreacting.

All the gory smartctl details are attached below, in case it's useful
identifying what's going on.

Thanks,

DR
