T43 is a good machine.  T60 is a good machine as well.. you should do 
well with it.  I have a T61 which is quite similar.  Solid as a rock and 
runs Linux very nicely.  If you are going to load Linux on it, feel free 
to holler if you have any problems.  I'm kind of a Thinkpad aficionado ;)
