Last week I bought a refurbished EeePC for my wife for $200. The goal was for he to watch the Big Brother feeds. The Netbook seemed to be perfect as long as the video is reasonably smooth. All well and good. But... somewhere along the way MSIE reports can't connect to destination. In my trouble shooting, the network icon shows it still connected. I double checked by WAP and the other laptop had no problems. This happens every once in a while, and while I can trouble shoot the problem, my wife really would not know what to do. So, the EeePC is going back to MicroCenter today. This could be an issue with Windows 7, the firewall, or a hardware issue. Not worth the effort. I might exchange this for another unit and put Linux on it. I'm wary of this one because it could possibly be hardware. On the plus side, in the future I can let her use my Linux laptop since RealPlayer is now web based and authentication now works under Firefox and Linux. In the past, the authentication required active X. --=20 Jerry Feldman <gaf-mNDKBlG2WHs at public.gmane.org> Boston Linux and Unix PGP key id: 537C5846 PGP Key fingerprint: 3D1B 8377 A3C0 A5F2 ECBB CA3B 4607 4319 537C 5846
