SR. LINUX ADMINISTRATOR

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Linux Administrator to
support our mission critical ecommerce websites. The ideal candidate
will be an expert Linux systems administrator and have extensive
experience with large scale websites, providing advanced troubleshooting
of virtual infrastructure, websites, systems, networks, and databases.
Primary responsibilities include:

- Support and monitor critical customer-facing websites via real-time
tools and alerts

- Optimize and maintain the health of the customer-facing websites
environment via predictive analysis trending, capacity planning and load
testing

- Create and maintain thorough documentation

- Work hand in hand with developers in a Ruby on Rails/Agile environment

- Plan, design and manage the deployment of highly available and
scalable IT infrastructure and associated support services, including
Linux servers, SAN storage, and infrastructure services (e.g.
authentication, DNS, NTP, etc.)

- Hands-on work building, patching, and maintaining Linux systems in an
ecommerce environment

- Work with internal customers to understand requirements and make
hardware/software recommendations based on those requirements

- Identify, troubleshoot and resolve system performance issues

- Develop and deploy server management policies, procedures and standards

The ideal candidate possesses a degree in computer science or a similar
program; at least 5 years? hands-on experience with enterprise LAMP
environments; excellent communication skills; experience with VMs,
clustering, replication, and other high-availability and disaster
recovery technologies; the ability to succeed under pressure and in a
customer-focused environment; experience with HP and Dell servers and
Isilon SAN storage hardware; experience using scripting languages for
task automation (Perl, Python, Shell, etc.); and flexibility with the
proven ability to excel in an entrepreneurial environment. Experience
with multiple UNIX and Linux platforms, including Red Hat & CentOS, as
well as experience administering Windows servers and Microsoft Exchange
are helpful.
