Although it would seem the problem is far more likely on the GoDaddy side, if this works, it'll cost you $10, or whatever the annual fee is, and then you can transfer it over to HostGator, once the waiting period has expired. If it doesn't, perhaps the alternate registrar will be better at troubleshooting the problem, and maybe even have inside contacts at GoDaddy to help resolve the problem.
