Currently on my work PC (Fedora 20) I have a local userid in /etc/passwd as well as a local home directory. What I would like to do is to set the system up to use my LDAP credentials and my NAS home directory when online but use my local credentials when not connected to the corporate network (eg. When the VPN is not established). My preference would be to use the same user name for both, but I also could set up my local account under a separate user. I currently automount my NAS home directory on a subdirectory of my current local home directory. The only time I would use the local user account would probably be to configure the VPN or wireless. 99% of the time I would be online. So, I'm just looking for some caveats. For instance my local home directory would be in /local/home/<user> where my online home would be /home. -- Jerry Feldman <gaf at blu.org> Boston Linux and Unix PGP key id:3BC1EB90 PGP Key fingerprint: 49E2 C52A FC5A A31F 8D66 C0AF 7CEA 30FC 3BC1 EB90
