My preference would be to use the same user There's a 1:1 mapping between user name and home directory on Unix so you can't have one login name with two different home directories. The simple solution is to have two login names with one UID and the same primary group, and then set up /etc/nsswitch.conf to use files then ldap so that the local login doesn't have to time out. -- Rich P.
