Agreed. My netbook has 1G of memory and actually ran virtualbox surprisingly well while I was giving a presentation using Libre Office Impress. It might be possible that you have an issue with your memory. Try running a memory diagnostic. That?s all two of my boxes have and I can even run virtualbox with a linux guest without issue. I don?t see how those two apps are going to max out your system.
