Solaris X sessions dying

I've had a number of mysterious glitches in the past few months that I've 
had no luck tracking down. Several of my users have reported that
occasionally their X session will just up and die, and they're dropped
back to the CDE login panel, losing everything they've been working on.
All these users are running with CDE, mostly on Solaris 2.6.

Can anyone suggest what I should be looking for to fix this, or at least
to understand what's causing the problem?
