Verizon DSL questions

Thanks for all the answers and ideas.  I'll check out Covad and Speakeasy. 
Wasn't Speakeasy the DSL provider advertising on Thinkgeek for a while?  The
last few times I checked out Thinkgeek I didn't see Speakeasy on there.  I
thought they bit the dust.  Oh well more research....
