M$ is bad. MS is good.

hey, i asked the
security-basics at securityfocus.com list a question about cracking the
password protection on office files, which you know is super easy, and
they wouldn't allow it because i wrote M$ instead of MS. all i asked
was if there's a freeware version similar to the elcomsoft advanced
password recovery app. i didn't even realize i was doing something
wrong! i know i ask some dumb questions sometimes, but man, to not even
allow it? i think that's pretty lame. let one of the readers flame me
if i get out of line. anybody else ever get bounced because they said
something negative about M$? (oops, i did it again. i'm a slow
learner.) anyway, here's the reason he bounced me and underneath is the
response i sent him.

| Sorry I don't get the impression this is a legitimate request,
| particularly because you use M$ instead of MS or Microsoft.

hello, i asked a question concerning a security issue with MS Office and
you bounced my email because i wrote M$ instead of MS? i eventually
found the answer on my own after lots of searching, but it would have
been nice to get a serious answer from a security professional. i think
not allowing an email because of politics is very unfortunate. i hope
that you will reconsider that position and come to the conclusion that
discourse, even with an insulting microsoft hating barbarian like
myself, could be beneficial. otherwise, i learn much from your list.
thank you for your time. -eric.
