And there is the problem, these days It thinks it *is* the OS. The
opposite of the Unix idea of doing one thing and doing it well.

I suspect it outgrew its design. (I don't know how good the original
design was for the original problem.)
-kb, the Kent who was recently horrified to see that systemd thinks it
is cron, too.
