That was exactly my thought as well.

Start with the top vendors in optoelectronics, like:

and others you see listed in Mouser and Digikey selling similar stuff.

(HP used to be big in optoelectronics, but they've apparently sold off
the business to someone.)

I think you'll have better luck finding an indicator LED from these
old-school vendors, rather than one of the newer players in LEDs, like
Cree, that specialize in high lumens illumination LEDs.


Another approach is to try some other distributors to see if they offer
a parametric search that includes temp range. Arrow, Avnet, Newark, etc.
