Object to the language, not the person, if at all possible.
(With Pieri, that's hard ... his interactions are so contrariy as to blur
the line between language, behavior, person.

With some-find-objectionable words, the correct response is apologize and
move on, and that's hard to do when it starts as a confrontation.

Alas Ned calling a word 'is racist' first rather than 'found offensive by
some' will raise defensive hackles as being called racist is itself pretty
offensive and might be inferred even if not implied by calling a word
'racist'.​
