Unix is just as capable of having things to hate as anything else. But it's the spirit of encouraging constructive criticism, and allowing folks to act on it that leads to improvements. I welcome it. But, as other notes have pointed out: - this criticism has only to do with sendmail, not with Unix - there are several other less arcane and very straight forward ways to determine sendmail's version. - Subcription/unsubscription/info requests: send e-mail with "subscribe", "unsubscribe", or "info" on the first line of the message body to discuss-request at blu.org (Subject line is ignored).
