Ron Peterson <ron.peterson at yellowbank.com> suggested: >Have you tried ssh's -P option? Yes, but in answering your e-mail, I tried something else and am now even happier than I was. Thanks. It turns out I can use both "-P" and "-p" when firing up ssh. The "-P" gets me past my work firewall, and a "-p" to an open port gets me past whatever filter galaxydsl.net (aka gis.net) has put upstream of me and can't find. One of these days I will pester them to find the extra firewalland open it, but in the meantime, I am happy to have ssh working, and I can even kill the high numbered sshd I had launched.
