For what its worth - I rarely speak with the first tech that answers the phone - if my problem is such that I have to call AT&T in the first place, than I want some brain matter on the other end. I usually ask the tech to connect me with a "senior" supervisor and even then I will ask to speak with his/her supervisor - 9 out of 10 times the issue gets answered. I've also had luck selecting the tech support choice for "email problems" - I've noticed that the support person is usually in the MA area, fairly knowledgeable and posses tools to view their own system. rob rob at r2es.com ------ Forwarded Message > From: David Kramer <david at thekramers.net> > Date: Sun, 21 Oct 2001 21:44:12 -0400 (EDT) > To: BLU Boston Linux Unix group <discuss at Blu.Org> > Subject: MediaOne/ATT: no more servers, hostnames > > > The short of it: as of 08/08, AT&T changed their policy such that they > will not put users' hostnames in the DNS servers, and enforced the policy > on 10/15 (sorry, didn't notice because by then my service had been > COMPLETELY down for several days, and was down for several days > afterwards.)
