> I don't believe it has firewire, but I could be wrong on that. Doesn't look like it according to the specs :-/ > Question: If I understand correctly, it's OK to buy a usb 2.0 device for a > usb 1.1 machine, it'll just run slowly? (It's OK to run slowly for now. I > can buy the PCMCIA card a bit later.) correct. usb 1.1 is 12 MBit/sec max, while usb 2.0 promisses 480 MBit/sec. However, you will lose performance if you mix 1.1 and 2.0 devices, and these numbers are 'maximum possible', not 'real'. BTW: looks like there is a CD-RW/DVD for your Toshiba for sale on ebay for about $150 -- -------------------------------------------------------------- Johannes Ullrich jullrich at euclidian.com pgp key: http://johannes.homepc.org/PGPKEYS -------------------------------------------------------------- "We regret to inform you that we do not enable any of the security functions within the routers that we install." support at covad.net --------------------------------------------------------------
