can Knoppix be used as a 'triage distro'? If your system doesn't
boot from Knoppix, its probably not going to work. Or the Suse
live eval CD?

personally: RedHat is the distro I am most familiar with. But
SuSe wouldn't be an issue either. 

So it sounds like CDs are provided and as a volunteer you don't
have to bring *anything* ?
