Just a couple of opinions from the peanut gallery. First, striping has the risk that a single failing drive can bring down the entire stripe-set. But, striping is a way to expand an existing volume. Striping with no redundancy is asking for trouble. By redundancy, I mean either redundancy by using things like RAID10, or even by doing regular backups. The bottom line (IMHO) is that striping is not bad per se, but you need to understand the issues and ask the questions before you implement. -- Jerry Feldman <gaf at blu.org> Boston Linux and Unix PGP key id:3BC1EB90 PGP Key fingerprint: 49E2 C52A FC5A A31F 8D66 C0AF 7CEA 30FC 3BC1 EB90
