unions are not perfect, but what is? not all unions are like the teamsters. just like not all management is like ken lewis. without unions don't conditions for workers just get worse? while some management teams understand that taking care of their workers is taking care of the business, most are focused on "maximizing shareholder value," and workers are just another resource to be managed. and do you enjoy weekends? you can thank unions for that. hasn't wealth been accumulating more and more in fewer and fewer hands? isn't the union movement on life support in this country? do you think there's a connection here? The number of people in poverty in 2010 (46.2 million) is the largest number in the 52 years for which poverty estimates have been published. [from http://www.census.gov/hhes/www/poverty/about/overview/index.html] how do workers stand up for their rights without unions? maybe the new model is industrial feudalism. -- http://or8.net/~johns "yeah yeah yeah" -beatles
