[Discuss] Community out-reach... convert the masses?

Mostly agree with this.

It's always good to peel a few more users over to Linux from Windows 
when it becomes too annoying for them to bear any longer.

They'll probably convert another couple people, or at least raise 
awareness among friends & family.


That's good.


But yeah, desktop Linux is better than ever, and is not going to grow by 
much.

People hated but put up with Windows Vista, loved its SP3 (called 
Windows 7), hated 8, loved 10, hate 11, but they're just going to keep 
putting up with it.


Alas.

This gets to the crux of it: desktop and laptop computers are stagnant, 
mobile is sufficient for the majority of people's use.


And the power of "the default" cannot be easily surmounted.
