Boston Linux & UNIX was originally founded in 1994 as part of The Boston Computer Society. We meet on the third Wednesday of each month at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in Building E51.

A continuation from last month of Christoph's potpourri of topics

Abstract


Christoph will serving up another helping of Linux Soup. The target audience will be home users of Linux, and topics will cover a range of applications. Christoph will be bringing his computer from home, and describe how it's configured and used to do:

  • Customizing Linux for home (X11 login screen, login profiles)
  • Word Processing, Spread Sheets, Presentations (Applixware)
  • Internet access (Dial up PPP, tcp wrappers, sendmail)
  • Graphic Arts, Scanning, Drawing (SANE, GIMP)
  • Web Design (using M4 macro processor)

This meeting will hopefully be more of a town meeting, where input from the audience is encouraged.

There will also be a Q & A session about this Saturday's Installfest!
