Abstract

Andreas Olofsson from Adapteva discusses the recent release of their new Epiphany IV energy efficient multi-core architecture processor.

Shankar Viswanathan introduces ZACATE, the AMD Low Power Fusion Accelerated Processing Unit (APU).

Parking:

There is no visitor parking in the Stata Building garage. There is usually plenty of free parking in the E-51 parking lot at 2 Amherst St, or at the Hayward St lot on the corner of Amherst and Hayward. or directly on Vassar, Ames or Amherst Sts. MIT parking lots are free after 3PM. Cambridge meters are free after 6PM.

Bio

Shankar Viswanathan is the lead performance architect for AMD's Strategic Silicon products. He has worked on the design and verification of several generations of AMD processors. Most recently, he was on the design team for the SoCs that power game consoles such as the PlayStation5 and the Steam Deck. His general interests like at the intersection of performance and security in hardware platforms.
