I installed RedHat 5.1 last night, and I tried out a couple of the demos
on the Applications CD. Specifically, I tried out WordPerfect and
Executor.
Unfortunately, neither of these displayed correctly in 24-bit color mode.
When I quit out of X and then restarted in 8-bit color mode, they were OK.
Is there a way of running 8-bit-color applications within a 24-bit-color
X session? It would be a shame if these commercial applications won't run
properly on high-end hardware.
