This would probably be best answered by whomever is administering the proxy, but such setups often allow you to telnet to the IP of the proxy without a password and you can then connect (or hop, rather) to whatever external address is necessary. A useful feature, though my preference is still with NAT. As for external POP mail, that should be an easy enough setting in whatever mail client you are using after finding out the proper port number on the proxy. This is assuming both of these protocols have been enabled on the proxy, so again, see the administrator. Brian J.
