Why is it "impossible"? I can't see how assigning an IP address via DHCP is
any different than via PPP. Presumably the difference is that software
already exists (on the telco/ISP side) for the PPP solution but not for
the DHCP solution.
After all, isn't *everything* "just a simple matter of programming"? :-)
