C lib in GCC

First,
header files on nearly all Unix (and derivative) systems are in the
/usr/include tree. Header files for the most part are associated with the
development libraries. For the most part, the header files should be
supplied on the vendor's distribution along with the development libraries,
which are normally located in /usr/lib. Development libraries as well as
header files are normally optional subsets.
