Hello to all:

I'd like to thank everyone who replied.  It turned out the one item
missing was from netstat -nr - no default route was displayed.  After
adding one, it helped resolve the networking issue.

P.S. It is so much fun going from BSD to the Solaris/Sys 5 world ;-)
