RCN on the other hand, is a different story... Here are my summarized experiences with MediaOne. My cable modem has been out of service for nearly a week at a time on 3 separate occassions. I have only had the cable modem sine April. This last time out, the technician stated that 3Com cable modems have a problem getting block-sync on occassion and need to be disconnected from the cable-line itself. It's not enough to power it off & on. Will see if this is true in a couple of weeks when the problem reproduces itself. Why the phone-tech didn't know this is left to special agent Smith to determine. At any rate... On each of the 3 occassions, MediaOne missed every 1st appointment. Be sure to request your $20 credit for missed appointments! Otherwise the telephone support is usually very friendly and fairly knowledgible. - Subcription/unsubscription/info requests: send e-mail with "subscribe", "unsubscribe", or "info" on the first line of the message body to discuss-request at blu.org (Subject line is ignored).
