Help! Linux won't boot and my nephew is coming for dinner!

Ron,

No joy: I entered

lilo -v -r <mount point of root partition on SCSI drive> -C /etc/lilo.conf

... and i got the error I mentioned.

The lilo.conf file shows /dev/hda as the boot drive, and all the usual options. I get the
"signature" error no matter what.

Must I reinstall?
