I have a few concerns about that:

* security. I've chosen not to install an ftp server at all on the new
server. I'm concerned that if I add one, the server is likely to be
cracked easily.

* bandwidth. As popular as these downloads are, they would likely choke
all the available bandwidth on the new server, leaving little for the we
and email services. Also, USDC probably wouldn't be thrilled abou the
added load; as I recall, that was one of the big concerns we had at Verio
when tarnhelm was hosted there.

* membership. We don't have a formal membership list, so there's no clear
way of determining who gets access.

I suppose someone could open a throwaway account on someplace like
geocities for this purpose; I don't know if that's consistent with their
usage policies, though.
