Another question : tape drive

Then there's Linus Torvald's comment that the  best  approach  is  to
make your stuff so valuable that other people volunteer to back it up
on their machines.

While this does minimize his hardware and time for making backups, it
seems  to  have  imposed a serious cost:  all the time that he's sunk
into coordinating the distributed archive of his files.
