Distro choice for Installfest

I've been prone to Mandrake, of course, and I'll try to
attend. I have copies
of the 9.2.1 release, which includes all the updates
released by about a month
ago (so the dreaded LG CDROM firmware bug is avoided).

I've had a preference to Mandrake over RedHat for a while,
because

- "generally", they've been more conservative about
releasing code before it's ready. I still remember getting
window managers from RedHat that didn't properly update the
Xauthority files, and compilers that had problems.

- installation is less troublesome, sys admin tools are
pretty good.

- they are more "desktop" oriented, and have good taste in
setting up KDE, etc.

New Topic: If anyone wants to work on non-Intel hardware,
arrangements should
be made in advance to make sure appropriate installation
media is available, or they
should bring their own

New Question: Is it Installfest policy to supply the
"customer" with a set
of installation media as part of the package? I think we
should...
