"nvi rul3z!!!" If you've been using vi for over 20 years like I have, nvi has all the obscure vi features that your fingers know instinctively, whereas vim is missing all but the most basic vi features. In addition to the annoying absence of critical functionality, vim also has additional non-vi features that pop up in your face unexpectedly and break your train of thought. Only a Newbie (in this context, anyone who's used vi for less than 20 years) would consider vim a vialble alternative! :-) -- John Abreau / Executive Director, Boston Linux & Unix ICQ 28611923 / AIM abreauj / JABBER jabr at jabber.org / YAHOO abreauj Email jabr at blu.org / WWW http://www.abreau.net / PGP-Key-ID 0xD5C7B5D9 PGP-Key-Fingerprint 72 FB 39 4F 3C 3B D6 5B E0 C8 5A 6E F1 2C BE 99
